Actually since my presence at the hall went from visible to inisible I became more spiritual. MUCH more spiritual in fact. I read a couple of different Bibles and never the NWT. The wt must be right, I read the Bible without their Bible filtering crap and I am now an apostate!

i guess you could reason that whatever your religious views were, your core is you are who you are.. did your personality change for better or worse when you left the organization?.

Word on the street is that Facebook is going to be banned...
by middleman in...at the next assembly.
i've heard from various sorces that the gb are planning on making it off limits, like they have already done for myspace.
has anyone else heard this?

You are so right, they rarely come out and say something. If they did say it they could be sued by fb or ms....LOL Legal dept. is in charge!
However, I can still remember one night when the co told us that if we were seen in line for an R rated movie we better expect to be taken back to the little room for questioning.

I also doubt they will ban it. Like Undercover said, they will disparage it and "Mark" those in the congregation that have a fb account. They will cite instances where children were hurt by being involved in an online community, how the society is only trying to protect them from satan's grasp, and how the internet is just Satan's latest playground that is replacing after school activities, drugs, and dances.

Honors classes "puff you up with pride"
by rebel8 inin us public schools, they used to have special classes for gifted students.
all students would be tested for academic achievement and iq, then placed in "gifted classes" with parental permission.. in my kingkongregation, parents would not give permission because it would make the children arrogant and later leave the trooftm.
it would also mean more time studying worldlytm subjects than necessary.. and if the student is female, oh hell no, she wasn't getting into the gifted courses, no way, no how!

It did. Back in Albuquerque I was slated to be bumped up a grade since I was reading at a college level in the 6th grade. My folks were very pleased and when the elders heard about it my folks were called prideful and arrogant and that if I was not already genetically like that then this promotion would seal my fate as an arrogant poopy. LOL
I graduated from college last May. I earned honors by making the President and Dean's list almost every term and I graduated Cum Laude with a 3.67 out of 4.00 gpa. I am actually more humble now than when I started college! All that learning and pressure to make it showed me how pride and arrogance have no place in my life. (I saw a prof and a couple fo students get tossed for that kind of attitude.)

My mom and sibs are ok with it. It's my wife I am dreading might find out. She is not an uber jw but when it comes to defending them she is among the most tenacious. I have been helping my youngest son who still lives with us to think and make up his own mind. He and his mom get into some pretty heated debates and no matter how hard the evidence is, she is terrified of losing her dad's approval and defends the wt no matter what.

Imagine what you would feel like if someone was going after your personal records and information. I think like me you would be outraged. These men are among the worst that humanity has ever produced, but they are entitled to their privacy. I know what you mean though. It is always nice to have proofs to help people see the truth, but the jw's don't seem to respond to proof. Apparently like me they have to get TIRED of the bs before they start digging for proof to support their views.
